Biography
1. Ant Man Bee were formed in Brighton late 2003. With influences ranging from Stone Roses indie groove to P Funk, folk and punk. The Bee developed their melodic funk rock and made a buzz in the venues of Brighton.
After the release of their first CD the Ant Man Bee Demo, they have gone on to play sell-out gigs at the Freebutt, The Komedia, the Providence and many other Brighton venues. Their biggest gig so far has been a sell-out headlining appearance at Lewes town hall in front of 500 people.
The half the band has now re-located to London and with the release of their first EP they are taking things to the next level by spreading the Bee love throughout the capital and beyond…
2. Ant Man Bee was also a "racially integrated band that presents a deft, deadly mix of down-and-dirty funk and punchy hard rock." (Daily Press, August 22, 2011). The band formed in 1989 in Norfolk Virginia Beach, Virginia area. Members are Katrina Enztminger (vocals, keys), Levi Satcher (vocals, keys, guitar, trumpet), Mike Kohn (bass), John Finney (vocals, keys, sax, percussion), Andy Labarge (guitar), Roy "Chubb" Boykins (lead vocals, percussion), Scott Mclemore (drums). They broke up in 1992, but reformed in 2011 to perform at the movie premiere of Hardcore Norfolk: A Story of Rock and Roll Survival. There they were joined on stage by Rick Skatore of 24-7 Spyz on bass and Enrique Foley from Atlanta's Follow For Now. They performed their original material as well as performing as Gary US Bonds' backing band on "New Orleans."
