Biography

1) ANTS / DEAD ANTS RAINBOW / DEAD ANTS TRIO / DEAD ANTS PROCESS
Dead Ants Rainbow channel dark joy and mirthsome solemnity directly from the Outer Realms, and present it to the Earth World via primarily aleatoric actions.

Melbourne, Australia

In early 2006 ANTS was formed by Troy Peter James Naumoff and Lachlan Ewbank(Damn Terran). Naumoff had previously been a member of and the founder of Melbourne jam band Fibonacci.
ANTS made two recordings, an ep titled LOU REED: THE SINGLE MOST UNTALENTED PERSON IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS and a full length titled GUACHOS.
Wanting to expand the lineup and sonic possibilities, Naumoff included Freya Hollick on occasional vocals and A D Machine (GRIST, HAARK, The Horn) as the permanent bassist while also changing the name to Dead Ants Rainbow .

Dead Ants Rainbow incorporate a more aleatoric approach and have a different lineup each time they play. This has seen Dead Ants Rainbow have well over 50 'members' and the band playing from drone to freejazz, on occasion Naumoff having the outfit play one off graphic scores. In 2009 Dead Ants Rainbow recorded a limited double album Solway Moss / Black Comet in the house of Go Genre Everything, with musicians playing simultaneously in each room of the house.
Since 2010 the band has been playing more shows simply as Dead Ants Trio and after Ewbank was replaced by Trent Brown on drums.
Dead Ants Trio has a permanent line-up comprising of Troy Peter James Naumoff on baritone guitar, A D Machine on bass, Trent Brown on drums and on occasion William Cassell on baritone sax.

Dead Ants Process is a live noise/experimental recording project of Troy Peter James Naumoff & A D Machine.
