after TCSOABS came out it made me realize how weak FTTWTE is compared to the rest of their discography. older albums are more interesting even if some of them sound worse. classic symptoms eats this one for dinner as it both sounds better and is way more interesting. still pretty alright and overhated. 6.5/10

Yeah, I'm still in shock how Architects have evolved into this pile of shitty music. SAD song(s), indeed

when you've been doing the same shit, or at least things in the same metalcore vein, for like 17 years, you're bound to change it up at some point and this was their album where they did that. it definitely caught me off guard when i heard the singles initially and i didn't like it, but this album really grew on me. once you look past the "hey, they don't sound like that on this album!!!" shit then you get to hear a solid alt metal album. Animals is a fuckin banger

This actually grew on me quite a bit. The heavier tracks, and Dead Butterflies, are actually good. It's the abundance of bog-standard radio rock and misguided ballads in between that drags the album down. If they can focus more on the alt-metal/industrial sound, their sound change might not be bad at all.

Ok, after some time I tend to return to Discourse Is Dead, Goliath, Impermanence and Libertine. Other songs seem flat and forgettable to me.

They ignore most of your arguments. They're just "offended" and looking to pick a quarrel. Those generic overblown responses are like listening to a recorder

No one is offended, this discussion happened almost a month ago lol. The only reason I've come back to it is because of the last fm notification that popped up. Did we get a little too excited and overreact a little? Maybe. Nothing wrong with disagreeing about music though anyway as long as it's kept somewhat civil which I think it was in comparison to how chaotic some comment sections can end up with insults thrown left right and centre. I still stand by what I said in earlier posts, but I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, and that's okay.
