Ariel Rivera is a Filipino singer and actor who rose to fame in the early 1990s and has since established himself as one of the most respected names in the Philippine entertainment industry. Born on September 1, 1966, Rivera initially gained recognition for his rich, soothing voice and romantic ballads, which made him a household name in the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene.
He released his debut album "Ariel Rivera" in 1991 featuring popular singles like "Sana Kahit Minsan" and "Ayoko Na Sana" which became a massive hit, earning him the title of "The Philippines' Premier Balladeer." His follow-up album "Simple Lang" in 1993 solidified his reputation, which also includes his song "Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin" was later used in the film with same title.
