Biography
Well, in order to understand A.D. you gotta know the story: So Derek says to Ed, "I'm tired of wasting time with dead end musicians. We need to get a focus and a goal and get shakin'." (or something like that). Ed responds with a resounding "yawp!" and the adventure began to find quality musicians who could share the same vision and direction that Derek and Ed shared.
Out of nowhere came Cherish Moorer, the unlikeliest of musicians. She'd always had a voice, but then through experimentation with the band, she discovered just how talented she was - keyboards, guitars, singer, and songwriter and all out of nowhere.
Finding a good guitarist in Pensacola proved to be excruciating, as well. As a last resort, Ed put out several posts on MySpace, landed some candidates, but the one that caught his attention was this nerdy looking fellow, Matt Card, who had this MySpace picture of him cuddling with his pooch. He didn't want to discuss anything online, but rather meet face to face. At first this frightened Ed, but it turned out all good. Not only that, but Matt was far from nerdy. Turns out he had a vital understanding of the modern rock sound without totally abandoning rock roots. It also brought together the perfect union. Matt Card would soon take any doubts of finding someone and replace it with a player who shared the sense of vision the band was seeking.
After a couple of personnel changes, the last fit for a member was a bass player, another formidable task. Matt announced that he had a friend who was a guitar player, but was mature and experienced and could handle bass as well. Although the band was skeptical of guitarists - turned - bass players, they were also desperate enough to give him a chance. So one day Adam Lorten shows up, picks up the bass guitar and instantly shreds with little to no practice. Not only that, Adam was the kinda guy that on any given day could do a rock photo shoot after he just woke up. He was livin' it. A true spirit.
So much has happened so fast, that it's hard to tell where it's all going. One thing's for sure. There's a spirit in this band that is infectious. There's a love of music, a love of people, a common bond, and a desire to share a positive message out there. A message of hope and faith, and of every day living. We hope you like the music and we hope to see you at one of our shows. Peace.
