i love listening to these guys' albums. I saw them live once but i didn't like it, but that might have been the fault of the Highline's sound.

personally, i think Cold of Ages is their best work. i also wasn't particularly into their latest release, feels like it's missing something. CoA on the other hand is near perfect IMO.

Everything prior to Irrepassable Gate was quite special, imo. Their final album lost the fire.

Pretty much 10 years ago Ash Borer and Fell Voices were on the forefront of droning atmospheric BM. And now both bands are almost forgotten already, it seems.

YES! It was mindblowing... I stood right in front of the bassist/vocalist and his playing was impressive to watch. The performance in total was just fucking awesome... I read later (quite?) some people left the room because the music was too complex? I certainly didn't pay attention to anything other than the band. Hope to see them again sometime!

After many years of waiting I saw these guys tonight. Ears are still ringing. The songs they played from Cold Of Ages were fucking incredible. They also played a bunch of stuff from Irrepassable Gate. Unfortunately the sound quality at the venue was just not that good, but still.. that cold of ages... utterly entranced.

Continually getting darker and more, for lack of a better term, "dramatic," this band never, ever disappoints, and just keeps raising the bar for American black metal.

I'm with you. I like how elements of their other bands, especially Predatory Light, seep into the new songs. Right now, the last two tracks are my favorites.

Profanation_
One of those bands where you could name any release from their discography as their best and I wouldn't argue.
