Biography
In the summer of 1981 Marco Braam (bass, vocal), Olaf Johan (drums) and Erwin Wolters (guitar, vocal) formed Mod/ Post-Punk band AWACS. Three years later Marco and Erwin were at the beginning of FATAL FLOWERS, who reached the top of Dutch Pop Music. Their co-written song "Cryin' Over Sin" opened the door for FATAL FLOWERS to a record deal.
Erwin left FATAL FLOWERS after the very first gig and formed a new band RADIO RADIO, which was a popular act amongst the explosion of new bands in Amsterdam at the time, called "The Amsterdam Guitar School". In 1987 he left the band.
Marco stayed for three years, contributing to the Fatal Flowers' European fame. He contributed as a songwriter as well as a Bass Player and Vocalist to the first two albums of the band, which both won a Dutch Edison Award. In the first three the band rose to the first steps of European fame. Marco left the band in 1987. FATAL FLOWERS disbanded in 1990.
In 1990 Marco and Erwin teamed up again as BRAAM & WOLTERS. Two years later they released their first self-named album, which gained lots of positive reactions and good reviews. After a short promotional tour, it was all over again.
At the end of BRAAM & WOLTERS Erwin formed a new band called ON GOLDEN POND. The band was later renamed into ALISON GROSS. A year later their first album "Sit With The Guru" was released. This well-received album enabled them to tour intensively. Their fame even rose as far as Peru (!), where they reached the number one spot with their song "Sit Up Straight". The band disbanded early 1996.
In the following years both Erwin and Marco focused on song writing. In 2003 they teamed up again under the name THE BUTTERFLY COLLECTOR to recording their well-received album "The Worm In The Apple, Here's The Butterfly Collector". This was a one-off as well.
Erwin Wolters released his first solo album "Land Of Rain" early 2010. (See http://www.last.fm/music/Erwin+Wolters)
