Aww Shucks is Paul Jantzi (principle songwriter of The Milwaukee's Best Band) and sometimes friends.
Aww Shucks is a moniker under which Paul's home recordings can be released, rough and off the cuff demos that are each recorded in 8 hours or less on the day they are written. Some are rough sketches, some are far more developed, and once in a while one will have more to it than an interesting idea, it may be a great composition, there may be one moment in the song when the harmonies are perfect and make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, or a sound or a texture will hit just right and make your heart swell. Sometimes one of them will just be so catchy that you'll be humming it to yourself all day. So since many of these tunes will never get proper studio treatment, they will be posted here as they are recorded. Formerly under the name of Bedbox, Aww Shucks has been recording songs for 8 years at home, and released a few CDR albums in that time. but all told there are nearly 200 songs available to you at The Record Garden dot com.
Aww Shucks does not try that hard to get noticed, or play shows, but that may be changing in the near future.
In June 2008 Paul recorded a four song demo with the support of the Quebec Conseil des Arts et des Lettres and backed by members of The Milwaukee's Best Band. This E.P. is tentatively called "The Bummer".
This winter, Aww Shucks is getting ready to release both The Bummer E.P. and an online release of his most recent home demos through Recording Club Recordings.
Aww Shucks was also recently included in the Feats Of Strength Montreal 2008 Compilation, a collection of some of the finest and most beautiful outsider folk music coming from Montreal this year. This Compilation will also be available through the
