AztecCormorant is the name of an album and musical project by London-based composer/producer, Matthew Gilbert Linley. He released two previous albums under the name 'Gilbert' - 'Gilbert'(2007) and 'Wahoola!'(2010) . With AztecCormorant he has again employed the vocals of Maud Waret, along with a host of other musicians.
Gilbert Linley also plays drums in Engineers with Mark Peters (who mixed the AztecCormorant album) and Ulrich Schnauss.
Gilbert's music is often stylistically eclectic and eccentric, crossing several genres. The music is generally richly-layered, combining vintage analog synths and organs with orchestral instruments such as horn, celeste and strings.
