Biography

Hungarian artist
Singer-guitarist-songwriter Noémi Barkóczi emerged on the scene in the early 2010s, her songs with a unique sound already created a unique universe during her first album (Nem vagyok itt, 2017). On her 2021 album Dolgom volt, which broke the silence of many years, she replaced the acoustic guitar with an electric one and experimented much more boldly with newer, scratchier sounds. The album received a Phonogram nomination, and several domestic media outlets mentioned it among the albums of the year. Since then, her band, which included Kristóf Gulyás (mius, Jazzékiel) and Márton Bognár (Kamikaze Scotsmen), has toured Hungarian clubs and festivals, and it is now certain that the band's music works just as well in front of thousands of people in Budapest Park as in the basement of a country club. Noémi appeared as a lyricist in the show Dalfutár, contributed to one of Vera Jónás' songs and the album in tribute to Kaláka, and several of her songs have appeared in Hungarian films. Noémi Barkóczi is working on her third album, from which two songs (Szia fényfolt, Mintha értenek) have already been released.
