Biography

Beige Palace is a minimalist rock trio formed in Leeds in 2015. The band originally consisted of Ant Bedford (drums/vocals, formerly of Cattle and Magnapinna) and Freddy Vinehill-Cliffe (guitar/keys/vocals, formerly of Pink Rick), who were soon joined by visual artist Kelly Bishop (violin/keys/vocals).

Gravel Time was released on cassette in October 2016 via Cave of Roses. This EP was self-produced by the band, and features sparse, repetitive songs with extreme dynamic shifts, inspired by Candies, Enablers, This Heat and others. Their debut album Leg was released via Buzzhowl Records in April 2019. Unlike Gravel Time, Leg was recorded in a professional studio, and features a more developed sound; the band incorporates the use of drones, as well as significantly more distortion and feedback, and the influence of folk-adjacent artists such as Richard Dawson and Ivor Cutler can be clearly heard.

In December 2019, Beige Palace toured with Shellac. The setlists for this tour largely consisted of new material, which showcased a more riff-orientated sound, with tighter, more concise song structures.
