Below the Neck are a Melodic Hardcore band from Inverness, formed in 2018. The band currently consists of Thomas Woolley (vocals), Rory Troup (guitar), Finnbar Connell (drums) and Ciaran McKenzie (bass).
The band made their live debut in September 2018, supporting fellow Highlanders Spoke Too Soon at their performance at the Ironworks, Inverness. Their debut release, Waste of Life, followed a year later.
Their second EP, An Imminent End, was recorded in October 2020 during the national COVID-19 lockdown. Aside from a gradual rollout of singles, it remained unreleased until June 2023. It was their last EP to feature founding members Conor Hedges and Johnny Fowler, who announced their departure from the band in 2024. Ciaran McKenzie was announced as the band's new bassist the same year. Post Imminence, Hedges and Fowler's final two studio recordings with the band, was released in April 2025.
