Biography
Prolific music producer, singer songwriter, drummer, arranger and a founding member of Klymmax, Bernadette Cooper was an 80s-early 90s force to be reckoned with. Producer of such soundtracks as, Fatal Beauty and To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything Julie Newmar, musician and vocalist on several major R&B acts of her era, in particular, Klymmax. Probably best known for her lyrical prowess and witty bon mots, who could ever forget her spoken word introduction and invitations to, "slap me," on one of Klymmax's biggest singles, The Men All Paused.
One of the best kept secrets in the world of R&B was, Ms. Cooper was the principle writer and producer of the long forgotten early 90s group, Madame X. Ms. Cooper's signature sound was all over that album, which is a showcase for her craft.
Ms. Cooper also had a solo career for a brief time, only turning out one LP, Drama According To Bernadette Cooper. Only one album and out for Ms. Cooper, although the album in itself was brilliantly produced and appreciated by Ms. Cooper's core audience.
