I have the same top 3. I hope we one day get a live album version of Alaska, ala Colors, TGM etc etc. not a bad song to be found in that 3 album run.

I absolutely hope. It's bewildering that it will be 20 years since its release. Time flies.

This album came out a few weeks after I started college. I think I wore down my first copy by sophomore year. This record is like a photo album for me. So many memories…The best part is that it still holds up incredibly well. What an album, what a band.

When this album dropped it was the only thing anyone in my group listened to for a year.

I might be going out on a limb here... Colors is my first love, yes, but I think The Great Misdirect is a better album. I know it's blasphemy around these parts but I really think TGM is a more... mature album, if you will.

you pretty much have to listen to it in one sitting to get the full effect. which is hard to come by these days, imo.

The transitions on the songs on this album are smoother than...fuck, I was always bad with these sort of things.

after trying to convince myself that Parallax II is good, and then digging into this for the first time in awhile, this is certainly their most organic record. incredible.

Both the album and the band are amazing, but claiming they are better than Dream Theater and/or Pink Floyd... you got to be out of your freaking mind.

I like Dream Theater well enough, but Scenes from a Memory isn't anywhere near this good, much less as good as Dark Side of the Moon. BtBaM is way more focussed than the vast majority of Dream Theater's output, for starters.

Best metal album of 2007. The growls get a bit too much occasionally, but god it's worth it.
