Biography
Big Bones no stranger to the blues world. Bones is one of the San Francisco bay areas premiere harmonica playing Blues men. He's a player of uncommon sensitivity and style. His funky gruff rap-blues vocal style is compelling whether he is covering standards or his own compositions which features more urban ghetto-influenced lyrics.
Bones recently returned to San Francisco from Germany where he had been living & touring throughout Europe extensively for several years. While in Germany he recorded & released his debut CD entitled "So Low". While honoring traditional blues, he shows his versatility by being a part of the new vanguard style. ..This is the blues. It's not an imitation, not a reheated cover cd. So don't be confused about the content, It still features love gone wrong, love gone right, trials and tribulations, anticipations and resolution… This indie cd hits hard.
A familiar favorite to the San Francisco scene, Bones was a long time regular at the famed Biscuits & Blues nightspot as well as many other bay area clubs & festivals. He has recorded, performed with, and opened for a long list of Blues Giants like John Lee Hooker, Joe Louis Walker, James Cotton, Homesick James, Hubert Sumlin, and Jessie Mae Hemphill just to name a few. He was also a longtime musical partner with the late guitarist-songwriter Paul Pena. They toured successfully on the club and festival circuit. He's also no stranger to mass communication, Television, Magazine & Radio. He hosted his own blues radio show that broadcasted live on KPOO-FM throughout the S.F. Bay area.
