Biography
After three successive seasons of winning high-school athlete of the year in West Toronto, Jonathan Rome realized that he had accomplished everything he needed to in the world of organized sports. Seeking a new challenge, Jon's undeniable hunger to compete, and the airing of the "Glutton Bowl" on Fox, led him to the IFOCE - also known as the International Federation of Competitive Eating.
Gaining excessive popularity (and weight) Jonathan soon earned the moniker BIG SCEN. Well-known for taking his weight in jest, BIG SCEN has since been credited by Webster's as coining the terms "fattractive" and "chubby chaser."
Combining his love for food and music, BIG SCEN launched the satirical clothing line lunchbox in early 2009. Featuring spin-offs of recognized fast food logos, lunchbox is currently blowing up with its first designs – UGK/KFC and Wu-Tang Clan/White Castle. Expanding his new-found wit onto the stage, BIG SCEN has honed his craft at Toronto's most established independent venue's including The Mod Club, Reverb, Kathedral, and El Mocambo.
Channeling the spirit of Biz Markie and the Fat Boys, BIG SCEN is bringing fat rap back in 2009.
