“Bill had this quiet fire that I loved on piano. The way he approached it, the sound he got was like crystal notes or sparkling water cascading down from some clear waterfall.” -- Miles Davis on Bill Evans.

Hard to believe Bill Evans was just 2 years old when he made Everybody Digs Bill Evans. So glad he's still alive and kicking!

There's three musicians named Bill Evans, the pianist, the saxophonist, and the banjo player. That's the birthday of the banjo player.

I always scrobble jazz albums by band leader just like classical and film music is always by composer not the performing orchestra. I don't really need to distinguish between Dave Holland Trio, Quartet, Quintet, Sextet, Septet, Octet and Dave Holland Big Band.

Sax player named Bill Evans also deserves some recognition. Petite Blonde live colaboration is pretty good.

haha weird question but do you think he ever played naked?????? like one day he couldnt be bothered to put on clothes and but he knew he had to practise so he sat and played completely naked?? do you think he would have enjoyed playing naked and perhaps it gave him a sense of freedom of spirit that aided in his playing of jazz???? do you think his bare skin ever got suck to his seat??????? idk guys just been wondering this alot haha.

Jesus, por que ainda insistem em botar como se Bill Evans estivesse vivo? E ele nasceu em 1929, não em 1956.

Can someone explain why Skating in Central Park is so popular, especially compared to other tracks on Undercurrent? Was it in a movie or something?

I guess it must be on a playlist made by spotify that has a lot of followers, like coffee table jazz or something like that

The Bill Evans Trio is generally seen as his quintessential stuff. Explorations, Portrait in Jazz, Sunday at the Village Vanguard and Waltz for Debby are all highly regarded but are great starting places too. Autumn Leaves and the Stan Getz collab album are also pretty nice

"My creed for art in general is that it should enrich the soul; it should teach spirituality by showing a person a portion of himself that he would not discover otherwise... a part of yourself you never knew existed."

A great musician. His style of playing piano is incredible and amazing. He really was an impressionist artist from the world of jazz.
