Wiki

"No Hard Feelings" describes the struggles of living in the slums in vivid details. These include topics of drug use, selfish people, and the unfortunate mortality rate.

The song has an unconventional song structure, something woods' isn’t a stranger of doing. The song has no chorus, or hook, but two verses that come one after another. The first verse is notably longer than the other. The only clear distinction that separates the two verses is the perspective. While still following the same themes of the song the second verse is from the perspective of someone who is being stood up by a woman. The first verse was about a more broad scope of going through the life of someone living in the ghetto.

The title of the song comes from the only sentence that is repeated at length within the song. “No hard feelings” is repeated five times total in the song. Most of these times are at the end of the first verse after being told not to smoke in the building, but the phrase comes back around at the end of the second verse being re contextualized as it coming from a phone call the next day from the woman who stood the person up.
