Black Light Ascension is the new project of Andrew Trail, of Knifeladder. It shows a return to an electronic, song based approach as were present in his earlier bands Ministry Of Love, Psychonaut and Autogeddon.
Using the most minimal of hardware drum machine/sequencers, hand played bass "guntar" and manual samplers, it is at times unreservedly 'retro'.The content veers between noir like morality and conspiracy stories and biblical, technological and apocalyptic visions.
Soon to expand to a full 3 piece band, Black Light Ascension is not necessarily going to appeal to Knifeladder fans, but will appeal to those who feel the usual dance oriented electronica is not delivering enough content with the form.
