Biography
Blank Disc are Srđan Muc (1965, guitar) and Róbert Rózsa (1972, electronics). This duo from Zrenjanin, Serbia, was born out of a free rock band Rascep, and has existed as such since 1997. Since then they have been active in the field of free improvisation, and also electronic/electroacoustic experimental music. They have performed on various festivals such as Ring Ring (Belgrade, 1999, 2000 & 2005), Alternativa (Prague, 2001), Ex Eu (Vienna, 2001), and Exit (Novi Sad, 2006. as participants in Erik Satie Vexations Project), as well as in different multimedia and performance art events. They have also participated in many workshops led by musicians such as Kazuhisa Uchihashi (1999), Otomo Yoshihide (2000), George Cremaschi and Matthew Ostrowski (2005), Ensemble Rue du Nord (2006). Since 2005 they have been collaborating with Andrej Gigic (saxophone) and Milan Aleksic (piano) as Blank Disc Quartet, and with Georg Wissel (saxophone) as Blank Disc Trio. They have 12 independent releases, an appearance on compilation "ExEu-Tended Rope" (Austria-SALON ELISE 2003), and one release as Bland Disc Trio (w/ Georg Wissel), “im KomikerLand” (2007) on German label Nurnichtnur.
