Biography
Blue Steam were a band on the late-1970s punk scene in Belfast, United Kingdom. Signing to the Rip-Off label they released their sole single, 'Lizard King' b/w 'Cortina Cowboys', in August 1978, with both of its sides also appearing on the following month's sampler LP, 'Belfast Rock'.
Personnel: David Kirkwood (vocals, harmonica), John Nelson (guitar), Simon Lloyd (sax), Dave Bloomfield (keyboards), Joe Sharpe (bass) and John Lee (drums).
After the band's split, drummer John Lee transferred to Irish power popper, The Tearjerkers, while sax man Simon Lloyd hooked up with The Members before joining Australia's Icehouse in 1984.
