The song probably borrows its name from the Beatles song "Strawberry Fields Forever", it's also a phrase associated with nihilism, which ties with interviews with the Sandison brothers saying that they had become more nihilistic with the passing of time.
a distorted voice is heard in the interlude, interestingly enough it sounds similar to the voices heard in "Telepath" from the same album, and it's part of the "transmission" theme seen on Tomorrow's Harvest.
