The band was founded in summer of year 2000 in Primošten, Croatia. It's members are living and working in Zagreb. Brain Holidays is one of the first croatian reggae bands with authentic author material and it represents a reference in relation to reggae roots in this parts. Every year, allong with original songs, Brain Holidays traditionaly holds a “Tribute to Bob Marley“.
Brain Holidays SOUND SYSTEM was established by MC Marcus G. & DJ Radius Mandragora (alto saxophone) with the idea to organize reggae events, spread culture and participates in creating reggae scene in Croatia in the more active and quality way.
Audio material, despite low production budget, evoked great interest in public and mass-media, by being No.1 band on National Television broadcast (Briljanteen) and on Cener Radio 101 with the song Liars Hunting and right after another singl Naddy War was released, it came to No 1. Nominees for journalist awards Crni Mačak (hope of the year) Demo Mačak followed, and exceptionally good newspaper rewievs for Irie came out as 1st track on a CD. (Irie- the song which on «Demo Mačak» compilation was released with live recordings from the Club «Jabuka»). After a video-premiere of «Sun is my treasure» on «Hit Depo», the band established its position in public media as original band of authors and in fact, creators of first croatian roots reggae.

Riversplash Reggae festival in Soča (SLO), Open Air u Tolminu (SLO), “1st seasplash reggae festival” u Puli, club “Maya“, Heineken music festival (BIH), «Happy 60th Birthday To Bob Marley» u Tvornici…
«1st seasplash reggae festival» in Pula was the first big organised reggae open air event in Croatia where Brain Holdays played with british and italian reggae stars such as: Zion train, Rootsman, Radici nel cemento, B. R. Stylers … etc.
Riversplash Reggae festival Soča is a great reggae event in Slovenia with a five- years tradition and up to now it has offered very attractive program to its public.
On the stage you could see: Gentelman, Lee Pery, Buju Banton, Macka B, Culture, Julian Marley …
Rock Otočec is a big open air festival wich is held in Slovenia, and every year there are a great nember of world music scene stars appeard like: Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Asian Dub Fundation, H-Blox, No Means No, Vlatko Stefanofski trio, Liquido, Dog eat dog, Rollins Band, Living colour itd.
On 02.04.2004. Brain Holiday's concert with a big reggae star Stareky Bunton (UK) in
club «Tvornica» (Zg) was held On the 08.05.2004. at club Pauk a concert Tribute to Bob Marley on the occasion of the anniversary of Bob Marley’s death (11.05.) was held. This was one of the most important Brain Holdays concerts (1500 tickets – sold out)
On the 05.02.2005 at club “Tvornica” the concert “Happy Birthday To Bob Marley”-
a tribute to 60th anniversary of Bob Marley’s birthday, was held and sold out.
APPENDIX:
in march 2004 the shooting of scenes for feature film by Srečko Jurković film “Pljuska” (slap) were finished. It’s a new generation horor film with the elements of satire, elements of croatian music scene, with parafrasing parts of cult literature and poetic denotations of authors hidden meanings.
