Brooklyn Bounce is a German dance duo founded in 1996, consisting of producers Matthias Menck (Double M) and Dennis Bohn (D-Bone, son of Carsten Bohn), who have been working together since 1995. They became known through tracks like The Theme (of Progressive Attack), Get Ready to Bounce, Bass, Beats & Melody, and Loud & Proud, achieving several entries in the German charts.
Menck and Bohn, both originally from Hamburg, met in 1995. The duo had their first hit as Boyz R Us with the single Singin’ In My Mind. In 1996, they debuted as Brooklyn Bounce and released The Theme (of Progressive Attack), whose success laid the groundwork for their debut album, The Beginning.
Menck and Bohn work exclusively in the studio and do not perform on stage. Instead, the group has been accompanied by various vocalists and dancers who have collaborated with the two German producers over the years. The list includes René "Diablo" Behrens (formerly of 666), Ulrika Bohn, Alejandra Cuevas-Moreno, and Stephan "Damon" Zschoppe. The singers were only credited on Bass, Beats and Melody, released in November 2000.
In 2006, Mental Madness Records released an album titled System Shock (The Lost Album 1999), which contains some of the earliest materials from the production duo. This album is only available in digital format.
