Biography
Bumsen Muss Mann was a swedish punk band formed 1981 in Göteborg, Sweden out of the bands Extrém Exém and The Puré by Roberto "Råbban" Laghi, Timo Kangas, Lars-Gunnar "Lasse Bumsen" Therus and Lennart "Senap" Esbjörnsson.
Initially Lasse-Bumsen was supposed to play drums, but they opted for two singers instead and recruited drummer Robert Reinby.
A demo was recorded with this setting. Reinby left the band half an hour before the first gig, and Shitlickers-Lasse took over drums, despite having barely heard the demo. Lots of gigs were played with various stand-in drummers until they found "Dojjan".
Bumsen-Lasse left the band in 1982, and the band continued with one singer until its demise in 1985.
In 1983 Timo left the band and became a respected music journalist at Göteborgsposten. The replacement "Hansa" was stolen from the band Atrapp, who they shared a rehearsal room with.
After appearing on the "Folk & Rock" compilation with Cortex, Abcess Exil and Mystikens Vacuum in 1984, "Pottan" (also from Atrapp) joined the band on keyboards. This lineup released the pretty well-recieved MLP "Elden" in 1985. A few months later Pottan left the band, and various keyboard players came and went (one of them being Staffan Hassling from Slobobans Undergång), but eventually the group split up.
Later Råbban played in Attentat and Ellen Jamesians, and as a studio owner recorded among others LOK, Hardcore Superstar and Mustasch. Senap have played in Tornado Babies and Not Enough Hate a.o. Dojjan currently plays in Mustasch.
In 1993 Bumsen Muss Mann reunited (Lasse, Råbban, Timo, Dojjan and Senap) for a single gig when the compilation CD "GBG Hardcore 1981-85" was released, but they've since promised each other to never play live with Bumsen Muss Mann again.
