Biography

Less a "band" than a snarking one-off, Buzz King was the result of four friends getting together for an afternoon to record. The namesake vocalist, bassist Steve Christensen, guitarist Paul Bauman, and drummer Chris Lovejoy (the latter two of whom were simultaneously serving time in the band Magnet) met at the Scary Clown studio in Bethesda, MD, for one day in 2002 to record an album's worth of improvised songs. The lowest-of-lo-fi results were issued in the U.K. on Bristol Cities Records in early 2003 as I Shave My Pussy, and in a more toned-down fashion in the U.S. as I'm Truly Sorry. They supported the release with a handful of shows in early 2003, with no plans for further activity.
