CALL BOX ABANDONED is a two man synth-pop band that originated in New Jersey, USA 1988. Their aural vision was inspired by the legendary post modern electronic sounds that were born in Europe during the late 1970's and into the early 1980's. CBA creates melodic, up beat synth based songs with deep lyrical explorations. The band has always understood the importance of synthesizers when it comes to modern musical expression and evolution. Inspired by bands like New Order, Kraftwerk, Erasure, Human League, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and A-ha.
Now, twenty plus years since it all began, the members have finally reunited and are writing & recording new tracks. Though the band is now divided by distance, (Douglas lives in New Jersey and Hal lives in California), they produce new music by trading digital performance tracks back and forth through the internet. This seems only natural since the band has always embraced technology to make music.
Their first new recordings in 20 years will be released late 2012.
