Biography

Soaring the airwaves with it's own blend of epic rock, ‘Calling Matthew’ is captivating listeners with a debut self-titled release. Calling Matthew doesn’t discriminate; energetic live performances loaded with hooks and unforgettable melodies have left audiences wanting more.

"I've been writing this record for 4 years, and during that time I’ve seen heartbreaks, failures and drama as well as good times… those experiences are the emotion behind the album," says singer/songwriter Matthew Montgomery. ‘Everyone can relate… and I think that is the life behind this record."

To create this album, Montgomery and bassist Brian May, teamed up with producer David Percefull (Caroline's Spine, Zac Maloy, Bowling For Soup, MWK, Fanzine, Phil Marshall) at yellowDOG Studios in Austin. Percefull assembled an all-star team of musicians including Mac Ross (Molly’s Yes, Fanzine), Mark Haugh (Caroline’s Spine), Josh Center (MWK, Phil Marshall), Phil Marshal (UK artist), Brandon Autry and Shane Tewis to perform on the album.

To add the finishing touches the first full-length release, mastering engineer Derek Taylor (Blue October, Burden Brothers, Edgewater, Zac Maloy, The Feds, The Vanished, Bush, South FM) was added as the final piece to the puzzle.

From start to finish, the album pulls you into a tangle of love and heartbreak. Passionate vocals, intense guitars, and thundering rhythms are molded together to create an unforgettable sound.

With his beginnings in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Matthew Montgomery has moved to Dallas, Texas to focus on the touring efforts of Calling Matthew.

Calling Matthew’s self-titled album is for sale now at CD Baby, Itunes, Yahoo Music, Dig Station, and SnoCap, among others. The album is also available in select stores: Waterloo in Austin, TX Starship Records and Tapes in Tulsa, OK
