Biography

Carl Edmondson was a young record producer employed by the Fraternity label. He was also the lead singer of The Dolphins and released a few singles under his own name, the best known being 'Watusi Stomp' b/w 'Sweet September' (1963 on Fraternity), with The Driving Winds as his backing band.

In 1964, Edmondson was assigned to record The Charmaines. They ended up recording one song together, a take on the old blues standard 'Baby, Please Don't Go', with Edmondson taking the lead part. The song remained unreleased until it was included on the 2013 compilation, 'New Breed Blues with Black Popcorn' on Kent Records, credited to Carl Edmondson with The Charmaines.
