Biography
Chad Gray (born October 16, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois, US), is the lead vocalist for American alternative nu-metal band Mudvayne and rock supergroup Hellyeah. He quit his factory job in Florida that paid $40,000 a year to move to Peoria, Illinois and form Mudvayne.
Gray is well known both for his clean singing and trademark screams and growls. He occasionally wears make-up on stage.
In 2005 Gray married Kelli Olson; they have a home in Redding, California. In the same year his grandmother Rau died from cancer that she had been battling for years. He dedicates the Hellyeah song "Thank You" to her and also wrote Mudvayne's Death Blooms about her struggle. He has a great feeling of gratitude towards his grandmother, because, as he stated, she is the one that loved him the most, and actually, she introduced him to singing, sending him to perform in a choir as a child.
