Biography
Cherry Bing was a Ska/punk band formed in 1999 in Buffalo, NY. The original members were in middle school at the time. Members included songwriter Mike Angelakos (Guitar, Vocals) Adam Schroeder (drums) Max Scott (Bass) Will Glazier(Trumpet) Derek Kettner (Trombone) and Andrew DeSabio (Saxaphone).
The band released a full length album (Buffalo Super Heroes) and an EP (Sixty-hertz singles) under this original Lineup before singer and songwriter Mike Angelakos departed to pursue other music. He currently the lead singer of the Boston based band "Passion Pit" signed to French Kiss Records (Columbia UK).
The band continued adding guitar player Jeff Czum and singer Shaant Hacikyan. The band released a two song demo (It's Your Day) and an EP (In a Language All Our Own) with Czum and Hacikyan before they left the band to start a new project called "Cute is What We Aim For".
The split was less than amicable. There was much animosity between the two groups when Hacikyan posted the Cherry Bing song "I don't Care if it's the moon, We're Going" on the CIWWAF purevolume and myspace sites.
Cherry Bing broke up in 2005. Drummer Adam Schroeder now plays guitar for the Buffalo Based rock band "The Innocent Bystanders" (Amherst Records)
