Can't go wrong with any of their albums with the og line-up, or their last 3 records!

now I had a very tough time trying to decide which of Bodom's first three albums was truly my favourite for a while. In the end, Hatebreeder wins because it has that 'potato chip' factor, in that you can't just listen to one song from this album. Like a bag of chips, you just subconciously keep reaching into the bag until it's done, and no matter which song from this album I toss on, I always end up listening to the album all the way through to the end.

Classic. It really is. Why? Because it's got everything a masterpiece needs. A great production, a sheer endlessly seeming amount of fresh ideas, which you can coun't as fresh nowadays too as no one was able to reach the creative level of Children of Bodom at any time. I mean, everything's perfect here... Those neoclassical guitar-leads/solos, the guitar-keyboard-duels between Alexi and Janne, the variety in terms of songwriting, the vocals, this kick-ass tight drumplay... EVERYTHING. [2]

Hatebreeder and Follow The Reaper definitely are the best melodic death metal albums. And they will remain so.
