Chinesehappy is a performance band from Detroit, MI USA. The center of their performance is the music, but its more than that. Its about community. Its about positive change.
Don't expect choreographed jumps and contrived head bangs - and don't for a second think that it will stay on the stage. Actually, go ahead and forget there is a stage. Chinese Happy strives to break down the barrier between audience and band, including anyone who is present at the show to be a part the performance. They routinely invite anyone onstage to sing with them (and occasionally to play their instruments) who would like to. No gimmicks- just family.
Chinesehappy plays a variety of different styles of rock music, but rather than identify with a specific scene or genre, they prefer to identify with people and ideas. Among these are positivity, nonviolence, the urgency of continually questioning ALL authority, acceptance of your brothers, sisters and androgynous intersex ze's for who they are -regardless of age, race or disability, raising up what we as people have in common and celebrating our differences as opposed to fearing them.
chinesehappy will play ANYWHERE pretty much ANYTIME. Theyve toured locally and nationally now playing anywhere from basements and inside public restrooms, to premier venues and festivals. Hopefully they will see YOU soon.
