Jesús Cárdenas, known by his stage name Chuy Montana, was an emerging artist in the corridos bélicos movement.
He would often play his guitar at the Tijuana-San Ysidro border, where he was eventually discovered by Jesús Ortíz Paz (JOP) of Fuerza Regida, who signed him onto his label, Street Mob Records. His 2023 singles, " Porte de Scarface" and " Que Bendición," attained success, and his feature on Fuerza Regida's " POLVOS DE CHANEL" also marked his rise to prominence.
On February 7, 2024, he was found dead in a Tijuana highway in Mexico, after he performed, in Baja California, songs that "did not please one of his aggressors".
