Biography
Rev. Claude Jeter was before I knew the Swan Silvertones, but they were known for being an influence on modern artists such as Al Green, and the late Eddie Kendricks. Louis Johnson had a different style than Rev. Jeter, but the Swan Silvertones have always been known for their smooth, tight harmonies and singing style. They were on the sound track of The Big Easy(1987) with their hit, "Saviour, Pass Me Not," which brought them back to the the attention of the general public; but they have always had a die-hard fan base. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002.
