Biography
After the split of the Southport based four piece, MeForYou, in 2005. Three of the members decided that they wanted to carry on making music, but take it in a slightly different direction. Jay Rowe, Phil Ball and Bear, made this decision half way through the recording of MeForYou's final Ep 'I Hope a Car Comes Crashing Through Your Wall'. Helping out with the recording was long time friend Gre Hale, who had also been in a number of Southport bands (e.g. Skirmish, ThirteenEve) and was really into the sound that the others wanted to achieve. With this in mind Gre joined the project and writing started pretty much straight away. A few weeks on Codeca (as they were now named) decided to go into the recording studio to record their material, on their independently released debut 'The Threshold of Ground Control'. Shortly after the band played gigs around the North West area, gainging fans wherever they played. 8 months after the formation Gre decided to move onto playing guitar, in order to add more depth and experimentation to the music, because of this, the band were lacking a bass player. They had been working on it for some time, until the bassist from our their good friends FightBenjamin, David Dodenhoff, decided to join the team.
The band are now working on the upcoming release 'Now All We Need Is The Spectrum', and have started writing the material, in a new and exciting direction. So keep you eyes out for Codeca…they could be coming for you.
