Halifax, Nova Scotia's Cool Blue Halo burst onto the Canadian national stage in 1992, wowing critics and garnering loads of new fans. The reasons for were obvious; soaring melodies, killer pop hooks and gorgeous two and three-part harmonies.

Cool Blue Halo’s album “Kangaroo” received much praise from music and campus press nation wide. Produced by Laurence Currie (Sloan, jale, Inbreds) the strong full length debut made it clear that Cool Blue Halo were a Canadian indie pop star on the rise. The U.W.O. Gazette claimed that Kangaroo was “one of the greatest pop albums to come out of Canada in a long time,” while Amplifier called it “Utterly catchy.” Radio play, record sales and response to two Central Canadian tours confirmed that Cool Blue Halo’s star was on the rise.

Cool Blue Halo was a well loved veteran band of the Halifax live music scene. The band was composed of Paul Boudreau, Jason Ives, Glenn MacCulloch and Barry Walsh, who came together and found peace of mind in a unanimous love for pure, classic pop. They left the alternative stereotype behind to deliver well-crafted, infectious tunes. Cool Blue Halo played with confidence, chemistry and polished style.

The band made videos for "Take it Back Now" and “Too Much Kathleen” and had considerable radio success Canada wide. The video for “Sweetie Said”, which was nominated for three Much Music Video Awards. Label interest from Atlantic, MCA and Sony Publishing was heating up when the band broke up in 1998
