Crying Lions were an indie rock band from Jarrow, near Newcastle upon Tyne, founded by vocalist Ollie Quinn and guitarist Joseph Dewey in 2014. The first lineup of Quinn and Dewey, plus Michael O'Neill (bass) and Chris Prudham (drums), released two demos locally in 2015 followed by a full demo EP titled Rocket Science. After a break from new material, the band returned with a new lineup in 2017, made up of Quinn and Prudham plus new members Fred Elstob (guitar) and Dan Reid (bass). This lineup released a debut single proper, Young & Careful, on 26 September 2017. Crying Lions disbanded shortly after the release of their debut single.
