VESTIGE OF SCRATCHES is Dir En Grey's third best-of album.
All songs except for the last one on each CD have been remastered.
The three bonus videos on disc 4 were originally supposed to be "Shot In One Take" versions. This was changed due to quality concerns by the band.
Although the single version's title of Sustain the untruth is usually written in all caps, it's written in lower case on this release.
In Haiiro no Ginka, Die is asked which of the track titles on this album is his favorite. He replies that it's either "IEYASU", "NOBUNAGA" or "HIDEYOSHI", with a note saying that they're working titles. "IEYASU" is 禍夜想, "NOBUNAGA" is Un deux, "HIDEYOSHI" is currently unknown.
In the same magazine, Kyo also says that his favorite working title was 信長 (Nobunaga).
