Biography
DJ Gwange, also known as Simon Matthews released Jungle, Drum 'N' Bass and Hardcore of the atmospheric type in the beginning of the nineties. Between 1993-94 he had various 12" releases on Legend Records (UK) including: New Creation/Vinyl Paradise , Motionless/Adrenalin and several tunes in the Legendary Volume series.
Legend Records was founded in 1993 by Simon Matthews, Jason Greenhaigh (Q-Project) and Paul Smith (Spinback). However, in 1995 Simon Matthews quit Legend Records, and due to increased financial pressure from the backers of the label, Q-Project and Spinback both decided to shut the label down. It was after the shutdown of Legend Records when they founded the new label C.I.A. Records. C.I.A. is an abbrevation for Computer Integrated Audio. The first release on the label came in 1996 and is still active to this day.
