DJ Volume is Stacy Mier.
Originally a hip-hop / Miami bass dj, Volume made his first appearance in the underground music scene in 1997 with the release of "Do You Like Acid". Volume credits the pioneers of breakbeat, The Cotton Club & DJ Icey for his transition into the world of breaks. "…that was it… a Miami bass drum track with time-compressed hip-hop elements, funky bass lines & acid synths, I could do that!". And that he did. Volume started dropping phat tracks that began popping up on the top dj's & record store charts.

In 1998, Volume teamed up with Huda Hudia to revamp the Kaleidoscope label. The two planned new marketing strategies, release schedules and of course a joint production venture, The HotHeadz. As they say, "the rest is history".

Currently, Volume is working at Ultimix as a full time remixer / editor. He's still "dropping phat tracks", he's still "popping up on charts", and he's electrifying dance floors with his dj sets from Miami, Florida to Vancouver, Canada and the hot spots in between. The once inspired rap dj" is now a true innovator and one of the most respected and sought after breakbeat dj / producer / remixers in the industry.
