Biography
Born and still living in Hamburg (Germany), he started spinning records in January 1999 at the age of 18, when some friends decided to give it a try and buy some decks. The half german, half japanese guy then started to mix the classic fast Hard-Trance that he loved ever since he heard his first Techno tracks in 1994.
Over the years he experimented with different styles, from new Hard-Trance to Electro and Progressive Techno, then arriving at the newer Trance and Progtrance styles which are played by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Tiesto and others. Today he's shifted his focus back to the classic, faster Hard-Trance sounds which never really left his mind, and is also promoting the revival of this sound in the "Flashback" radio show at Digitally Imported Radio.
Even though this faster "oldschool" Hard-Trance has disappeared from the clubs today, Yoko never stops searching and collecting these tracks from the past, and has also added more classic stuff like Hardcore and Happy Hardcore to his repertoire. If you're interested, you can see his record collection (both classics and recent tunes) in his Discogs profile.
