No one does doom like these guys.... Anyone heard from these guys in a while? Their brothers in Oranssi Pazuzu have been getting a lot of attention while these guys have fallen under the radar.

You're right, no one really does it like they do. It looks like they put out Mathreyata last year, so unless that's some kind of reissue or collection of "singles" they still seem to be active.

Wow I completely missed out on the release of Mathreyata! thank you for bringing it to my attention! I was under the impression that 'II" was the last thing they released!

Despite Dark Buddha Rising doing their music neatly, Oranssi Pazuzu has a more original approach with its mixture of krautrock and black metal, which can explain the difference of popularity of these two bands for now.

Oranssi Pazuzu's definitely outrageously original and is earning their attention. Though Dark Buddha Rising has some avant-garde stuff going on too, even if it's more subtle, Oranssi Pazuzu's solid, original, conceptual approach is definitely more marketable for a big metal label like Nuclear Blast. If Nuclear Blast were to pick up DBR they probably wouldn't know where to put them, and DBR would probably fit better on Relapse or Southern Lord if they got on a bigger label.

"Chonyidt 45" borrows riffage from a song by another band but can't help put my finger on it. Help? Abyssolute Transfinite is amazing. Gotta hear more material.

Their new album is a trippy, nasty, scary, ferocious and exhilarating trip through a universe that may or may not exist

definitely not less psychoactive than [artist]Aluk Todolo[/artist]. can't decide which one of them I prefere the most. it doesn't matter anyway as both of them should be praised for their trance-inducing traits
