Biography
Dave Myers and his Surf-Tones were a Southern California surf rock group who were mostly active in the early '60s. They rose to local prominence with their performances at the Rendezvous Ballroom, a venue they shared first with the legendary Dick Dale and his band, the Del-Tones, and later with Eddie & The Showmen, following Dale's departure. They were the winners of a Battle of the Bands event in the Spring of '63, held at the Deauville Castle Club in Santa Monica, and a subsequently released long player showcased crowd pleasers played at the event, including a couple by the Surf-Tones. That same year saw the release of their Debut LP, Hangin' Twenty (Del-Fi).
