"Crush" is the debut single by 2008 American Idol runner up, David Archuleta. The track was written by Emanuel Kiriakou, Jess Cates and Dave Hodges.

The song debuted August 1, 2008 on New York City radio station Z100. Rather than take on the role of the heartbreaker or ladies man, Archuleta stays with his down-to-earth roots to create a sweet and easy-to-listen-to single. It's hard not to feel for Archuleta as he cries, "I know this crush ain't goin' away." From the sound of the first single, it looks like there will be plenty of crushes to come once the full album debuts this fall.

After just one day of airplay, "Crush" was able to debut at #93 on the Billboard Pop 100 and #57 on Pop 100 Airplay. The song is also currently the most added track at Mainstream CHR radio stations.

Following the song's digital release onto the U.S. iTunes store on August 12, 2008, the song rocketed to the #1 spot on iTunes in less than 24 hours, dethroning Rihanna's "Disturbia." It is also Archuleta's first song to reach the top spot on iTunes. This indicates that the song will likely have a very high debut on Billboard's Hot 100 in the following week.
