The Man Who Sold the World is the third studio album by English musician David Bowie. It was released on 4 November 1970 in the United States and in April 1971 in the United Kingdom.
This album marked a big change in Bowie's career, as this is not only the album where he started having a backing band, and not just him, but also this is his first change into rock music, mainly containing blues rock, folk rock, hard rock and prog rock. As well as shifting into a new genre, this sees a change into darker subject matter.; talking about religion, war, technology and insanity.
