Biography
The Toronto-based group Dead Bent has been playing its unique and refreshingly original blend of music to audiences of all ages and all musical tastes. Although fundamentally a hip-hop group, the eight young musicians demonstrate a mature approach to the genre by composing songs based on pop, jazz and funk.
Dead Bent has played alongside artists such as Swollen Members and Diabolic, and they have also performed at the NXNE music festival two years in a row.
What sets Dead Bent apart from the average hip-hop group is the excitement and hype that the live band produces, whether through your speakers or on stage. The tight rhythm section and punchy horns build the grand sound that emcees Casper and Raazputin use as a backdrop for their uncommon intellectual approach to a genre populated by sameness.
