Dark, angry, hellish, psychotic, and hypnotic, “No Love” is incredibly intense. Punctuated by a droning electronic churn and methodical, hard-hitting drums, the song is an example of MC Ride performing at his most lyrically violent and emotionally chaotic.
Some speculate that this song has a double meaning, evident by the lyrics exploring torturing someone (maybe Ride himself) and a bad trip on acid. The hook is both the voice of the drug in MC Ride’s brain and the voice of Ride in the listener’s, as his music sends us on a ‘bad trip’ of our own. Additionally, the music video for the song is displayed in a non-functional 3D anaglyph, showing two simultaneous images that visually hint at the idea of duality.
