Ded Byrds were a Merseyside punk/new wave band from the Greater Liverpool area of the United Kingdom.
They were active from December 1977 to June 1979 before changing their name into Walkie Talkies (who called it a day in November 1979).
Personnel: David Knopov (vocals), Jon Moss (drums), Ambrose Reynolds (bass), Wayne Hussey (guitar), Dave Wibberley (guitar) and Denyze D’Arcy (sax, vocals).
Knopov, Moss and Reynolds were all ex-members of the O’Boogie Brothers. Hussey was ex-Foxglove and later appeared in Hambi & the Dance and Knopov’s Political Package. Reynolds was ex-Big In Japan and also played in Jacqui & Jeanette, and later in Nightmares in Wax. David Knopov later performed in Hambi & the Dance, Knopov’s Political Package. Dave Wibberley later popped up in Margox & the Zincs.
