im not gonna lie to you my man, i never understood the "shoegaze" label given to this album... or anything from deftones for that matter. team sleep is the closest thing chino moreno ever got to making something shoegaze in my opinion and even then i'd consider that a stretch

If you liked those two you'll probably like these as well. If you didn't, probably not. It's a lot more straightforward and at times heavier than both of those albums

Esse álbum representa muito bem a força de seguir em frente da banda após a tristeza que foi perder o Chi Cheng

This album is incredibly consistent front to back. I think it's fairly rated, not their best that's for sure.

why does spotify say this came out in 2008? is it just another "spotify's been dumb" situation again or what lol?

Was not expecting to like this as much as White Pony but I think I might like it more honestly

Songs "Diamond Eyes" and "Risk" sounds a little bit like Glassjaw imho. I was surprised.

Owl, the original adorable messenger of death. I do love this cover so very much.

You're going to question my taste with that hideous twink with no top lip in your avi? Piss off.

Superb album contains Chino's best vocal performances, I feel, his screams are so visceral and satisfying, so cathartic, the music has a more positive feel to it than before, indeed due to the events that surrounded this record. I really enjoy the more positive feel. The band is incredibly tight. I've read they took a lot of takes until it was perfect and you can hear it, the band is full of life and they are incredibly tight here. Koi No Yokan feels like a natural evolution of this album but this record has its own identity and qualities as well. I still probably prefer Yokan but this is still very strong.
